Reusable Design System & Component Library
A Tailwind-based, accessibility-first component system that ended copy-paste frontend code.
Every team I joined had the same disease: five date pickers, four modal implementations, zero consistency. This design system and component library is the cure — a shared, accessible, well-documented foundation.
Problem
Teams were rebuilding the same components — filters, pickers, modals, form controls — in every project. The duplication meant accessibility bugs got fixed five times (or never), visual drift was guaranteed, and every new feature started with a week of reinvention.
Design & Architecture
I designed the library around contracts: typed props, design tokens as the single source of visual truth, accessibility baked into every primitive (focus management, ARIA patterns, keyboard support), and micro-interactions implemented once so they felt identical everywhere. Custom data filters and pickers were first-class citizens, not afterthoughts.
Execution
Built on Tailwind CSS with custom hooks for behavior — disclosure, selection, virtualized lists — and documented every component with live usage examples. Motion was tokenized so micro-interactions respected prefers-reduced-motion globally. Contribution guidelines kept the library curated instead of cluttered.
Impact
Eliminated duplicate frontend code across projects: new screens are now assembled from the library in hours, and accessibility fixes land once, everywhere.
